Brembo caliper's

Thanks for the tip Stuart, I had a spare weekend and also had a go at the spacer option. Very pleased with the result. Slight change as 'threaded' the spacers.

Used Black Diamond discs this time.
Thanks again for your advice and info Stuart, much appreciated.
Someone must have thought about this. Even if it means trying different discs, can the calliper be mounted on the other side of the spindle mounting flange, fit the disc so its more about board and aligned to the calliper. This will give plenty of space for the steering arm to be pushed outboard and help the Ackerman angle.
Sorry ignore me-you cant put the bolts in with the disc in the way and you cant put the disc on after wards.

Valance clearance
Does anyone have a photo of the modification to the valance need for wheel clearance when fitting larger wheels?
Thanks
Brad

Re: Valance clearance
Hi Brad - these are from my Alpine but same principle applies. Cut looks a little severe but the car was elevated on stands so there is suspension drop to allow for. The car is lowered (via springs, not drop spindles) and has worn both 14x6 and 15x6 rims without any scrape on full lock or hard brake - I'd try full lock AND hard brake but Tomaselli has that market cornered based on some autocross shots I've seen!!Brad1380 wrote:Does anyone have a photo of the modification to the valance need for wheel clearance when fitting larger wheels?

Hope that assists. Tom

...thanks for that Tom - I clearly have a reputation but didn't realise it was 'world wide'Tom_HRO260 wrote:I'd try full lock AND hard brake but Tomaselli has that market cornered based on some autocross shots I've seen!!

some folk see it as a wee bit irresponsible on my part driving fast, but then they don't really appreciate that my Tiger not only goes and stops, but also corners. I have a stock Tiger just as it left Jensen, and it's bloody frightening to drive. These 'tech' threads are great as they make our Tigers safer and more enjoyable. A continuation of 'Rootes' development.
Sorry was going off topic there, Brad - I don't think I took much off the front valance, if any. I'm only at 15 inch alloys which seems to be a useful compromise with looks and rideability. I know some owners on 16 inch, and the rolling radius works against the natural handling (short wheel base) and are very twitchy.
I'm probably going with 15" Image GT40 BRM6 wheels, can't decide on the colour at the moment, though i'm tending towards gloss black.

Ooooh very tasty
Brad - those (and other) Image rims look super tasty and I must admit were on my hit list but I've ended up going for a set of billets out of the US for my Tiger.
Apologies for the very rudimentary measurements, but here's a quick grab of some more from the Alpine valance - dinner pangs forced much haste!

Unfortunately I haven't finished the valance on the Tiger yet as it's in the throes of being reset to the guards - I'll try and get some shots through of that whilst it's still (yep - still) on the rotisserie.
Tomaselli - I tried hunting down that shot of you putting the nearside (well, offside in your case) rim deep up into the front wheel well - it's an awesome dive and looks like you have the rubber about to peel off the rim. Great stuff!
Cheers , Tom

Nice alloy that Brad, a firm favourite with me. I spoke to Image Wheels a while back as they are only an hours drive from me. They've already had a Tiger in so they know what the correct offsets are, but I wanted to squeeze in 7 1/2 rims on the rears and one day I will go down and have a proper measure up. I'm also running with the Rapier drop spindles at the front which allows me to have (if I want) deeper front alloys as the rim will now clear the top ball joint easily.
Ah Tom, you mean back in 2010 at Brooklands,

Yes that alloy was a tad close to the deck....

Won't happen again that (not that I've become responsible!) as I now have; 600lb springs at the front and much firmer rear springs and decent Koni original shocks on the rears.
