Bob

The only time we open the bonnet is to lift our bags in and out.

What does a reasonably sound Tiger cost, with decent brakes, maybee a few more forward gears and an engine that makes more noise and uses even more fuel than standard. Wouldn't need air con, heated seats or ABS.

Might be tempted.

Can't swear this is right as Bernie E can mess things up. But the Goodwood Revival is 14-16th September so it's short odds that the Spa racing weekend will be 22-24th September 2012.

A Belgian fan of the Tiger told me that when it rains in Belgium it pours in Spa! Well on this last trip we had fantastic weather; we were all slapping on Factor 10+. Looking back at the Le Mans Classic last year we had 40c in the shade there and I'm now beginning to think that the Spa weekend is as good if not a better deal. Maybe I should wash my mouth out but Spa has great 1, 2, 3 & 6 hour events, loads of Tigers, great weather and the 'Fawlty Towers' hotel is as good as ever. Any downsides, yes, £250 quid on fuel getting there & back.

In my book, if there are Tigers running, the Spa weekend has to be done.

That said this year my 'bacon' was saved, when I lost my brakes, by the mechanic gurus in our party, namely Dean, Tony, Dave & Bob. You can't travel with better folk!

Hi Andy, shame, you just missed a modified "Tiger", 500bhp, that went recently for about £18,000. Allow £18-22k for decent Tiger. And the engine is at the correct end. You mention luggage, no chance in a Tiger, your boot will be full of petrol cans & spare parts! Keep a eye on website classified ads for cars. I'm sure that you will fit in, seeing your fondness for the "pub". See you next year.

Another advantage over Le-Mans...25e for 3 day pass, & no french officials.
