They developed this in conjunction with Classic Motorsport magazine, who have just completed a Tiger restoration that is now my dream car, if I had the money. Worth looking at magazine website to see articles.

I think that the CM setup is almost the same as Dale A's setup. Dale has been offering 2 sizes of willwood 4 piston vented front brake kist for probably 10 years now. Dales can be seen at:

Hi,

Has anyone enquired about the cost of the kit directly from Wilwood? They also have a pdf instructions showing the installation on a Tiger. The kit requires 15" rims as well, so if you don't already have them it could prove costly.

You only need to run the 15" wheels with the 12.19 rotors, the 10.5 setup works within 14" rims. Mayne tigers are running 14's.. and seems most people spec'ing new wheels are going 15 because of wider tyre selection..

i really wonder whats going to happen when the tyre choice slows up there.. i think the 15's are a little large on a tiger for my taste.. and i think the low profile you have to run on them compromises ride. 13" tyres are now very scarce for decent sporting rubber.. as in sporting tyres.. not semi slicks. i guess the problem when even small city hatches have stock 15" steel wheels and 16-17 option alloys.

The Wilwood kit uses an 11.75" rotor in the kit, so I guess Dales would better suit unless Wilwood can match a suitable rotor. The 14" rims are a nice size, but I'm not fussed about going to 15" if required. All classic car owners are in the same boat, not to mention many other standard road cars with smaller rims.

I went to 15" rims for my Tiger because of tyre selection. If you want decent sport tyres you have to.

I see they are not changing the MC bore size which is interesting.

Wilwood must have calculated that the existing master cylinder bore was adequate for the installation. That is good as it is one less thing to worry about.

Mal, i dont think you "have" to go 15" yet.. i run Dunlop Direzza Z1's on my tiger 195x60/14.. think they are about the best sports tyre there is.

I have Falken azenis on the alpine (175x60/14.. could have gone larger).. but they are more track focused in tread than the dunlop and make much more noise and throw more stones up. The dunlop offers about the same grip and a more road friendly tread.

Both Dales kits use wilwood rotors and calpiers on the front.

Michael, I allready have the wheels and tyres. I have 15" x 205 Hankooks for the rear and 195 for the front, on superlite rims.

The Dunlops you have are a nice looking tyre.

Thanks for that excellent link, Mal. Wilwood's How-To is just so detailed with very clear photos.

Both kits look superb quality, but they have matching price tags unfortunately.
