Hi
Should the seams between front vallance and front wings be visible? Similarly the seams fore and aft of the sills?
Personally I think they look better de-seamed. I've been looking at pictures in the cat's whiskers and on the net and where you can see, there seems to be about a 50/50 split.
Any guidance appreciated...
Cheers

seams - visible or not?
Re: seams - visible or not?
Hi Dave
I'm not sure regarding the front valance, mine are exposed and visible on my very late Mk1 car, which I think is correct.
However, on the sills it depend on the year of Manufacture.
I believe early cars (Prior to Mid 1965) had the rear seam lead loaded but the front one was visible, on early cars the seam between the top of the wings to the scuttle was also lead loaded, very late Mk1 cars and all the later Mk1a and Mk2 cars didn't have any lead loading to these two areas so I've read.
Regards
Gary

Re: seams - visible or not?
Hi Gary
Thanks for your reply, very helpful.
Mine was registered 30.4.65 which makes it 'early' I guess. I'm still undecided, mine's never gonna win prizes for originality so I think I'll probably just go with what I think looks best and have all the seams welded up.
Cheers

Yes, it's your car so do what you prefer, the seams where originally Lead loaded though.
It was all to do with costs cutting apparently.

To confirm. For your Tiger - Front sill join /seam unleaded. Rear seam lead loaded.
