Hardtop headlining

Post by Tigerfan » Wed Jan 17, 2018 4:39 pm

Hi Guys,
Has anybody any advice or instructions on how to renew a hardtop headlining.

It seems clear from the old headling reminents that the front of the headlining is pop riveted to a moulded steel section at each side, then this moulding attached to the headling is pop riveted to the hardtop at the front underside. This can only be done with the headling hanging loose. The headling can then be pulled into position and clipped/glued to the sides and back.

The trick would appear to be shaping the front of the headlining before attaching to the moulding as this dictates how wrinkle free the fabric will be.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks Rich
