New member pictures 1966 MK-1A
HI guys,
I thought I might try my hand at posting a few of my pictures. Hopefully this works. I'm picking up my Tiger tomorrow morning having just had a new exhaust system installed. Its had very restrictive mufflers on since purchase and I have just installed a series of 40 series Flowmasters for a bit of that old school American muscle car sound. Hopefully it turns out well!

Hi guys,
Here are a few more. The radio is an original Sunbeam model. It does'nt work at the moment, but its a nice piece to have all the same as it adds wonderfully to the interior. The steering wheel and dash have cracks, but I shall not change anything in the interior. Hope you like the car. The round sticker on the back is a Sunbeam Tiger Club of South Africa sticker. A wonderful piece made even more so by the fact my parents are both South African!

Many thanks for your kind works about the car. I do not believe they are the original springs. The original 260 was removed in 1980 and replaced with a completely rebuilt 289 at which time I believe the springs were changed. Its such a marvelous car to drive and my absolute favorite. Growing up in the suburbs of Detroit it was always the car I desired. Such an absolute sleeper. I managed to find this on e-bay one evening and purchased it at 230 in the morning sight unseen. It certainly has proved to be a wonderful buy requiring only yearly regular servicing and a change from the double barrel Carter carbs it was sporting to a single 4 barrel Hollley.

Excellent point on the semantic angle Martin:) As the paint is original it certainly possesses decided patina especially up close, but it gives the car such wonderful character. In both Connecticut and New York State one must possess both front and rear license plates, which unlike the wonderful ones you have in England are simply horrible. Luckily, it seems classic cars are accorded a bit of give in this regard and one can sport the traditional English plate. I carry the front one in the car in case of a stop.
As for the clock per report it has'nt worked in ages. Another thing to fix in time ( no pun intended of course)

If you go with Victoria British, ask for a shipping cost first. If you were worried about customs, you may find you will cop a double whammy. I tried to buy some small clips years ago and their shipping was obscene for what they were sending. They also would not compromise, so I don't use them at all. Your choice at the end of the day though (hopefully they have changed).

I'm sure a few others may be interested in a set of mats and it may well be a viable alternative. As I said though, get a shipping quote first as they may now be more competitive.martin172 wrote:I may see if I can get some made over here.
