sorry to come to the thread late, but i don't think reliability is something you need to worry about with a tiger. mine has never broken down on me. i've driven it across america, europe and morocco and i tend to abuse it locally somewhat too.

drive it regularly, keep it well maintained and it'll be fine.

Sorry, I should have made myself clear - I'm not saying the car will be unreliable (TVR-like  ) but that I'd rather buy a cared for example rather than someone else's problems.

Reference, the meet, thanks for the head-up, unfortunately I was called away for work last minute; otherwise a beer and car talk would have been ideal.

PS - I haven't bothered to post a 'Wanted Ad' because I think most people will look at the new threads on this site as much as they'll go to that section; however, if anyone is aware of a good, solid, reliable, Tiger for sale, I would very much appreciate being made aware of it. Even better if the car is local to Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. :)

Still looking - if anyone is considering selling their Tiger Mk1 or 2, please let me know. The money is ready for a good car. Other than wanting an original car with some history, my only proviso is that I am not interested in owning a green Tiger (be it currently green or green from the factory but presently wearing a different colour).

Someone stop me from going back to what I know and buying safe!

Isn't there a few Tigers for sale in the classifieds in the clubs main webb site. Not the classifieds on this forum.

Hi Mal

I am aware of the those cars for sale. I haven't looked at them so cannot comment on the condition or any other aspect of them; however, they are not for me based on my personal preference reference colours.

If the car is currently for sale publicly, I am aware of it. I am hoping that someone may be on the cusp of selling and therefore will make me aware of it saving them hassle and allowing me to buy a good Tiger.

Hi,AM94,sorry to hear that green tigers are a no no.Why do you dislike green so much,it is a classic colour for a great British car.So what would be your ideal colour combination.Regards Greg.Ps welcome to a great club,a good forum and hopefully soon, your own Tiger

Colour is a very personal thing and while I respect that BRG is an iconic colour for sports cars, personally, it isn't my choice. My friend's dad, who was Texan, used to say, "there is no accounting for another man's taste in whisky, women or horses", I think you can use that for car colours as well.

As for ideal, I'd be happy with any original colour other than green (any variant), although white wouldn't be my favoured option.

I'm not sure what ruling out green and white leaves but I assume: red, blue, black, some period '60s colours?

I plan to keep the car, hence wanting the original colour to be one I like not just now but in the future.

Welcome to the club am94 and bigee1234,this is one of the friendliest clubs around and there is plenty of free advice available. I live in Devon and was a member at the first instance. I have had 4 tigers and I know there is one coming up for sale this summer not more than 10 miles from me.(It was my tiger 4 years ago) Get in touch with Brian Postle,he knows where most tigers for sale are and he will save you from buying an Alger. See you guys at LeMans

Thanks for the welcome, Rob.

I have spoken with Brian and he was very helpful and knowledgeable. It is a shame he is such a distance from me because were he closer, I imagine it would make looking for a good car easier.

I would welcome hearing about the car close to you, if it in fact does come up for sale.
