Tiger 289 Carburettor Choice
Tiger 289 Carburettor Choice
I have a late Mk.1A with a fairly standard 289 lump. What would you consider the best carburettor choice for road use? Thanks!
Hi,
If you still retain the two barrel manifold you have only a couple of options in the Autolite (original) or the Holley 350 or 500 two barrels. As you have the 289 engine with a four barrel manifold, as already stated the Holley 465 or Edelbrock/Carter 500 carburettors do a very good job. I have recently installed a new Weiand manifold and Edelbrock 500cfm carburettor on my stock 260 and I am very impressed. I did have to lean down the carburettor though.
Regards. Robin.
