Had a lot of challenges with the throttle linkage, trying to get WOT with the limited pedal travel, but got there in the end.
Also hosing up had problems due to the carb and the different manifold, again took much longer to sort out than i wanted but go there in the end.
Think i should have gone with black HT leads as well.
All in all, not too shabby.

I've still not got round to looking at my Over-fuelling Holley Carb
, but I have got a rebuild kit and had a look on You-tube how to rebuild one and it doesn't seem too difficult?

Hi Gary,
i got the bulkhead swivel parts, rod and arms, but they didn't give WOT, so played around with the pedal height, pedal throw and various arcs to give the required amount of travel at the carb, took much longer than i thought it would.
Some of the rod linkages needed shortening other making longer, basically from the pedal a big arc, small arc at the first bulkhead linkage, big arc at the carb.

Yes, I found I had to use the original Longer arm at the carb end to get full throttle opening of the Carburettor?
It was a bit of a fiddle setting everything up too, so the throttle didn't jam up.
I used some Oil-lite Bushes mounted in Rubber Grommet fixed to the original rod mounting brackets to give a bit of play for engine movement, it seems to work ok and I've not had anything lock up? Yet!
It looks like you are not far off getting the car finished, will it be this year?

I really hope so, i've been laid off 3 times in the last 5 years so funds have been tight, but i have another job now.

Yes and no, i've been teaching myself S/S Tig welding for the exhaust...not pretty so far.

Are you using "gas backing " on the inside? It will help with the weld and get a better finish on the inside.

Started on the exhaust, bit of a head warp but going slowly, measure 5 times cut once.
First off was to make sure all the brackets fitted which they didn't.

Then starting from the rear heading forwards, i'll chop the tail pipes to length later when i'm sure the rest is right, just spot welded for the moment.

Rear section tacked in without any pie cut sections, front to do next and that's going to be tricky with the X member cut out.
I used wood spacers to ensure the pipes are parallel with the boot floor.

Nothing left to fit now too prevent first start up, first time since 1972 i believe.
Steering, front brakes, soft top, wheels and tyres, and seat belts left to do now.

Now i've got the seats in just as i suspected the Irving chute seat belt buckles are not in the right place, this is due to them being stitched at the buckle rather than sliding, so they will need adjusting, can anyone recommend a seat belt company?
