Standard air filter replacement filter element

Post by Shindles » Thu Nov 28, 2019 12:37 pm

Is there a more efficient filter element for the standard oval Tiger filter?

Mines got a K&N Filter fitted in the original AC Filter Housing.

This was installed by the previous owner and I have no Idea if it is more efficient than a standard one, although K&N are a well known performance upgrade manufacturer?

Regards

K&N are meant to be the best. Can be cleaned and reused. Avoid after market foam ones as they have been known to catch fire when carb spits back.

Managed to fit a 2" K&N filter. Just sufficient clearnce under the bonnet if you chop off some of the bolt.
Rolling road dyno showed a 3bhp increase in power.

I'm sure I have a KN element in mine. What is the recommended cleaning chemical for it please and by memory, are you not supposed to spray the element afterwards with an oil. Next question- if this is correct, how viscous an oil?
