Hello All,
Looking for advice about the ebay car. Real/bitsa/imposter. Have had many Alpines and a couple of Harringtons but still not sure how to spot a kosher Tiger. Always wanted one so figure if I don't jump onboard now ....
Thanks for any help.

From memory isn't it something to do with how the inner wing mouldings (that take the crossmembers) are welded to the inner wings ? Also how Jensen did the bulkhead mod, boot mounted battery fixings.
I can't see the spare wheel spigot on the boot floor but then is it because floor has been re-metalled ?
Am I doing ok ? If not what other tell-tales am I looking for (might learn something here !
Cheers Andy

The main modifications Jenson carried out are -
1 Gearbox Tunnel & part of the bulkhead cut out with a gas torch and replaced with much bigger tunnel.
2 As you mentioned the supports for the inner wings were moved and dents added to the inner wings for clearance.
3 Brackets added on l/h inner wing for Radiator expansion tank.
4 Bottom of radiator panel trimmed & Front valance trimmed in front of radiator.
5 Bracket on r/h inner wing for steering column.
6 Holes cut for exhausts to pass through l/h & r/h chassis outriggers under the floors and Rear chassis outriggers scalloped for exhaust clearance.
7 Battery Strap brackets welded to r/h chassis leg in the boot with a strip of wood for the battery to rest against.
8 Panhard bracket welded to r/h chassis rail.
9 Spare wheel bracket welded to boot floor.
10 Front subframe modified to take steering rack.
11 Various exhaust mounting brackets welded to underside.
12 Plates welded to chassis cruciform for gearbox mount.
I am sure I have missed some but I am sure others will add to the list.
The Jenson mods are not the neatest ( ragged edges where metal has been gassed off & not the prettiest welding)
I should think a new boot floor has been fitted hence the missing spare wheel bracket

IIRC this car was sold by Martin Pester a few years ago and was incomplete. Bodyshell, f+r axle, steering column only?
The car was Arctic White and was believed to be a genuine Tiger.
I think it was purchased by a cameraman for ITN but cant remember his name now. His intention was to restore it himself.
Hope this helps
