Gordon Bennett Irish Classic Run 2019

This is a provisional notice of intent to hold a club run out to the Gordon Bennett Classic Run in Ireland June 2019.

The event is held over the first weekend of June which is a Bank Holiday in Ireland. All events are non-competitive and are held over 4 days, Friday to Monday (31st May - 3rd June 2019).
Typical schedule is:
Friday (evening) - Gather at County Hall for Civic Reception, Portlaoise.
Saturday - Heritage run covering around 80 to 100 miles. Gala Dinner evening consists of a three course meal with tea/coffee at a cost of €30 p/p*.
Sunday - Drive part or all of the original Gordon Bennett Route.
Monday - Scenic drive through the Irish midlands followed by a BBQ €10 p/p*.
Entry to the Event €60*


The organisers offer a package which for 2018 is £328 p/p* which includes ferry crossing and four nights B&B in a 4 star hotel. Ferry crossing is Pembroke to Rosslare (Holyhead - Dublin for small additional fee). Portlaoise is a 2 hr drive from Rosslare, 1 hr from Dublin.

Emerald Isle to rumble in 19.

Nine UK Tigers will be crossing the Irish Sea next June to take part in the Gordon Bennett Classic Car Tour. A further three Tigers will travel from France and Germany plus possibly two from Ireland itself.

It should be a great party.
