Shock Absorbers
Shock Absorbers
Any recommendations please as to the best shock absorbers to fit a Tiger.
Thankyou Stuart

Not that I'm aware of. Talked to the Koni guys but they informed me that Rick in US has the absolute Monopol to get them made in smaller batches. From time to time he had them available. Not sure about the current status though. Another option would be to get decent used pairs and have them rebuilt in UK...
Hi all,
I am also looking for quality replacement shocks for my Tiger.
The car is presently sitting slightly lowered with slightly heavier duty springs than stock. It’s on 14” wheels. It presently has a set of Spax shocks which are probably about 20 years old but with very little use. They are not easily adjusted “in situ” and I find that I like them at the soft end of the range for sedate use but I need them quite a bit harder when I start to push on. I was wondering if there is a more progressive shock available or perhaps there might be something available with remote adjustment?
Any thoughts, observations, recommendations and links to stockists greatly appreciated.

I've recently made an Enquiry direct to Koni regarding Tiger Dampers and have been told they are obsolete?
Part Numbers quoted to me are 82-1347 & 82-1348.
I was also given details by Koni of 3 Specialist who may be able to make some specials, but they are asking me for originals to copy?
I suppose there is a very remote chance of possibly finding some N.O.S. ones in the US but definetely a long shot!
GAZ Shocks have a good reputation in Triumph circles but I have never used them myself?
Cheers
Gary

Thanks Guys.
In the meantime I can confirm that I received a response from Koni saying that they know of only one specialist who orders in sufficient quantities that they make them up for him. Details below for anyone who is interested. I haven't yet decided to use Koni but it does seem that the option is there.
"We do have a specialist in the USA, for who we regularly make Sunbeam Tiger shock absorbers, although these are made exclusively for him.
Part numbers are:
8210 1163
8210 1164
The specialist can be contacted: http://classicgarage.com/ ..."

koni from usa
p&p,customs and vat on parts from usa can add up to nearly 60% sometimes so check carefully, sunbeam spares stock them sometimes.
