Brad,
I can't speak for Cellulose but all my cars are painted in 2k which I am very pleased with, the AH 3000 is 2k base coat + Clear coat.

Done a bit more research, modern paint isn't like the 2 pack i remember of old which looked like plastic, so going for water based base coat & clear coat, should be durable & not sag which cellulose does even years after being sprayed.

Bit more progress, leaded up the n/s headlight area after the repair section. Also been flatting down the body & trying to take out the dents where i can.

Also found these little brackets & no idea where they go, so any help would be appreciated.

looking good Brad.

The brackets are for the bootlid, left and right on tbe inside on the rear bottom edge (the rubber pads pointing downwards as buffers to the bodywork)

Thanks, they buttons are indeed rubber just painted over.

Getting there, just need a cash injection to cover the paint shop costs!

Yes big milestone to get it out the garage.
Now i have space its prompted a massive spring clean and clear up operation, there's grinding dust everywhere.

Are there any differences between a Mk 1 & a Mk 2 for carpet sets?
I've been looking at Coverdale and they only list the Mk 2.

Cars ready for viewing at the weekend as the painter has finished, bit apprehensive as to what to expect and it will be well weird to see it a colour after all these years.

Last bolt on the cross member rebuild stripped so got hold of these heavy duty thread inserts, the tangs get knocked in afterwards to stop them rotating.

Trial fit without the spring to make sure i tapped the inserts straight.
