TIGER 50
Highlights of this year's Monte Carlo Rally, the opening round of the 2014 World Rally Championship can be seen on ITV4 starting at 8pm tonight, 21st Jan. I hope the weather is a lot better when we drive some of tehse roads in September!!!!!!!! Entry list is nothing like what it was when the Tigers competed but there is some interest for the Brits.

A bit of mountain road trivia.
The Turini at 1607m (ranked at 231st), is a bit of a tiddler compared to other climbs in Europe. As the Monte Carlo Rally was held in January the big alpine climbs used on the Tour de France cycle race couldn't be used as they are impassable other than the summer months. The Geneva Rally did go over some large climbs including Mont Ventoux (#122).
The highest paved road is the Veleta in Spain at 3380m although this is a dead end, the highest pass is the Col de I'Iseran in France at 2770m, the Stelvio in Italy is the second highest pass at 2757m (#5).
The return route from Cannes takes in the Stelvio as well as possibly the Gavia (2621m #10) and the Arlberg pass in Austria (1793m #168).
Make sure your brakes are good and get practising your handbrake turns!

TIGERS attending International Rally
STOC INTERNATIONAL RALLY - TIGERS ATTENDING JULY 2014

80 machines so far including:
From Germany - 6 Tigers
From Switzerland - 5 Tigers
From United States - 3 Tigers
From Australia - 1 Tiger
From New Zealand - 1 Tiger
From Channel Islands - 1 Tiger
That's about 20% of the 80 Tigers clocked in so far.
So fellow members of STOC are you planning on joining us
on Saturday 12th July 2014?
Please drop a line to the Club to be added to this list!!

front wheel bearings
For those going on the Monte Tour please check your front wheel bearings, for grease as well as play. Checked mine today, not a drop of grease!
Cheers Rob

Rob,
the front wheel brgs, do not need grease in the brg cap,in fact it will run out of the cap if they have a breather hole there.
To check brgs, which I reality on most Tigers are not checked or repacked as often as they should be, the hub and disc needs to be removed from the stub axle, brgs and seal removed and both hub and brgs washed out and properly repacked with grease.
Best to do this now this side of the Channel rather than needing to do it whilst on trip to Monte.!!

In addition, I can recommend Redline CV-2 as the best grease I've found so far, stays in place even when racing with solid disc brakes.

Keep thinking about that spares pack, why wait for the spares van to turn up if it's something you can swap over yourself...
