Chrome mark 2 headlamp rims

Post by jerryg » Sun Aug 14, 2016 8:46 pm

Thinking of putting these on Ebay but thought it fair to offer them here first, should there be any interest. I have a pair of chromed headlamp rims to suit a mark 2 Tiger. They are undamaged but chrome is pitted on the upper surfaces where I guess they have been previously fitted to a vehicle and exposed on those surfaces. The pitting might not be an issue if being prepped for painting in body colour. Have photos and some of one fitted to my Tiger. They measure 8 and 7/8 inches top to bottom and 8 and 1/4 inches side to side and are stamped inside FR1 55629 BS1004A.

I'll bid you £20 if you don't have a price in mind.

Never mind this pair of lightweights, Lets get down to business.

How about a straight swap for a pair of equally interesting MK1 headlight rings AND 2 of the highly desirable clockwise helixical spiral fitting kits.

Do you have a price in mind Jerry?

I'd be very interested as well. Ignore the bandits, how much do you want?

The reason for not quoting price is that I am unsure what they are worth but at the same time know they are desirable items to the right person. Only wanting to raise money to acquire a correct 0-5k tacho. Mine is a 0-7k Alpine unit, recalibrated for a V8 and plan a dashboard change in the winter to fit powered steering-an opportunity to sort the instruments. Does this help or just muddy the waters?

Clear as mud. What price are you asking for the avoidance of any doubt. Condition of listing items for sale on STOC board, is with an initial price. Saves a lot of bother, hassle and effort for folk if they know what they are dealing with from the outset.Thanks.

Aplogies for any confusion. As I said, I genuinely cannot put a price to them so I guess I was offering them for sale and looking for guidance on price. As you point out, this is contrary to the website rules. Easiest thing I feel is to pop 'em back up in the loft where they've been for the last 3 years.
Sorry again.

Average price on ebay last few years has been anything between £250 in the UK and £300+ in the US. This forum is a great way to save on ebay fees so just place an 'asking' price your happy with.

Pics would be good also. I know it's all relative but I gave a set of these away to a 'friend' a while back. Before prices went stupid, another off my life regrets.

That seems to have set the price then. I need £230 (US$ 300) to purchase a Tiger tacho advertised on the California Tiger's website, so if anybody thinks they are worth that to them, then they are theirs. Alternatively, if anyone has a decent working, correct 0-5k Tiger tacho they would do a straight swap for, then yet again, a done deal. I have a selection of photos but don't know how to attach so could attach to an email reply from jgear@blueyonder.co.uk if requested.

A very decent price Jerry. I don't think you'll have any shortage of buyers! :)
