** SOLD ** Mk1 Tiger - complete and original for restoration

Post by mk1260 » Wed Dec 03, 2014 12:32 pm

Reluctantly for sale is my dads MK 1 Sunbeam Tiger B9473621HROFE

First registered 16th July 1965. White with black hard top and red trim. Owned by my dad since 1988 and registered in his name and current address. This is a complete, totally original and unmolested, ‘matching numbers’ UK car with undisturbed JAL and ID plates; original rivets present.

Engine and gear box removed to start restoration which unfortunately owing to ill heath never happened, the engine is exactly as removed and has been turned over regularly to keep the engine free, gearbox the same.

Bodywork requires total restoration, and is rotten in the usual places. Whilst this is a brave restoration, and viewing is to be advised, given the good spares availability and simple construction it would make an ideal winter restoration project. Trim and bright work is all present, but needs some attention.

To summarise, this is a rare opportunity to purchase a genuine, complete and unmolested car for restoration. I would advise any potential buyer to come and view the car beforehand in any eventuality and am happy to accommodate serious buyers.

I know my dad has been in talks with Graham about getting it added to the Classifieds section, so all being well it should appear there soon.

My dad is looking for someone genuine to buy the car and restore it to its former glory. He's been an STOC member for some time so felt it prudent to offer it for sale here in the first instance, so if anyone is interested don't hesitate to contact either me via PM, or my dad on email on ericowen2001@yahoo.co.uk for more information.

Looking for serious offers in the region of £9.5k.

Feel free to contact me, happy to help with any queries.

Looks a good project for somebody to get into. Clearly had bigger tyres in its life.

If it's OK, will share onto FaceBook Tiger UK page, as you never know.

Best of luck.

I think this man visited the stand with his father, both very nice people, and gave us some printed and stapled information sheets. I put them on the club stand but they went missing. Does anyone know where they went?

I'd ask Malcolm Sedman, he was collecting information from all sorts of folk who came to the STOC stand who had parts or cars for sale.

That's what i heard,

Swooped up and straight in the pocket by Mr Sedman, yet another reason not to join a club when the inner circle grabs all the goodies.

It didn't go un-noticed.

We don't need your cheap shot sniping on here thanks Paul.

You want to try joining the Club and putting your back into it. Much more useful than forever complaining!

Ooops sorry Graham.

The info i got must have been wrong then? Do any of the lower minions get a look in with anything Tiger within the club?

It's been suggested that STOC stands for the SURREY TIGER OWNERS CLUB.

Well done in finding a new home for the Tiger. Hope your dad is pleased with the result. It will be nice to see the Tiger back on the road one day.

No need to delete the thread, it will be useful archive material for future reference for newcomers who are gauging values coming into the marque.

Glad to hear it has sold.
If you don't mind me asking, did it go for near the asking price?
