Windows Security Box

Post by martin172 » Fri Apr 24, 2015 10:51 am

Anyone else having this problem?

On some threads, and even some pages of some threads, this box appears and completely locks up my PC.

Any ideas what it is?

I'm not an IT expert but I have had this problem before. It's not the Forum it's Windows messing about.

I can't remember specifically what I did to resolve it but there is a solution on this website http://www.w7forums.com/threads/windows ... word.1621/ that seems to work. Altering the Log-in credentials does ring a bell. If I remember rightly I deleted all of the credentials that were not essential to the day-to-day running of the computer. Looking at my own machine I cleaned it up in early September ... which explains why I can't remember the detailed fix.

The windows solution is here https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/306895

Hope that helps a bit.

Sorry chaps - my bad
That would be caused by image links to a little web page I threw together with some grabs of my cars. Very agricultural and I was obviously a little over zealous on the security front.
I've moved the images to another area and flipped off the password control to rectify - again my apologies

Cheers
Tom

That would make sense Tom as it started when I was looking at your resto thread but I got very confused when it hijacked me in the middle of Mal's resto thread too.

I was going to say the x-problem had nothing to do with the 3rd party Forum we use or so they say. Glad it's cleared up though!
