Precision machining recommendation

Post by V8 burble » Tue Aug 02, 2011 2:50 pm

For any STOC member searching for a top quality machinist, I can strongly recommend Owen Llwyd Edwards (a.k.a. Olle). He has done several precision jobs for me and he is currently making a new throttle linkage with a 10mm stainless steel rod, nylon bushes, springs and 2 new brackets.
One-offs and prototyping are a speciality of his.

Remember Gary, Dino always uses "Aircraft Alloy" when fabricating any custom components for our cars - you can clearly see the items under "extras" on your bill

Sounds like you might be over complicating throttle linkage. Whats wrong with cable set up? Much simpler & easy to adjust. I also turned my carb 180 to improve cable run.

I am simply keeping the original design but I will bear in mind the alternative cable set up.

Why did you decide on nylon bushes over brass or bearings?

A fellow Tiger owner and very good friend has had this arrangement on his car for ages. It works perfectly and he swears by it, not at it. That is good enough for me.
