Minilite Wheels

I intend to change the wheels on my Tiger. I would like to fit the same wheels as the ones fitted to the Mk2 Tiger on the cover of the latest Cats Whiskers.

I know these are Minilite wheels, but they are of a slightly different style to the Minilites I have come across before with a flat area around the wheel nuts. Can anyone tell me what this style of Minilite is called and what size they are (i.e. 13, 14 or 15 inch)?

Thanks

Hi Tim,

Here is a link to the Minilite website: http://www.minilite.co.uk/products.htm , so hopefully you can find the style there. I'm sure someone can tell you exactly what size the rims are, but 14x6" are very popular.

Regards, Robin.

Tim, why don't you come to the Pageant of Power tomorrow.

There will be loads of Tigers wearing minilite style wheels of various makes for you to choose from.

Thanks for the replies.

I have had a look at the Minilite web site, and have also e mailed them with my requirements, but not knowing the name of the style of Minilite wheel I cannot be sure that I'll end up with exactly what I want.

I would love to be at the Pageant of Power, but I have family commitments.

They are Minilite "Sport" design and offered a few years ago in aluminium as the company only wanted to offer the classic design wheels in magnesium at the time. It finally dawned on Minilite that most people wanted the classic design and so started making them in aluminium!

Hi Martin,

Looking at your picture that you posted in the reverse light thread, your rims look similar to the Panasport style minilites. Got any closer pictures?

Regards, Robin.

Thanks for the information.

What was the original tyre size for the Tiger? I know it was originally fitted with 13" wheels and I'm trying to work out what difference 14X6 wheels will have on the speedo reading. The only figures I can find on the web regarding standard tyre sizes are 5.9x13, which isn't much help when using this;
