Brembo caliper's
Re: brembo calipers
Photos of my installation. I remember more details. Disc machined down to 280mm dia, mounting holes re-drilled in disc using original as template.Centre hole eased slightly. Back of hub had 3mm removed so disc was in correct alignment to caliper. Steering arm packed off with washers & trackrod end adjusted to suit. I went up 1/8th inch on master cylinder bore to reduce padal pressure, but I don't use a servo.[/quote]
Hi Bob, I've machined some spacers so can leave the hubs as original (and then reversed the disc to fit):
Spacers are 14.5mm thick drilled to take 4 x 3/8 countersunk bolts to the hub and then same again for the disc to the spacer ( c/sunk to maximise clearance on the back of disc to the upright ).
I have some basic drawings and other measurements if anyone is interested.
cheers,
Stuart

Track is standard, hubs are not modified in any way.
Discs are the usual Pug 406 reduced to 276mm dia and a couple of extra holes drilled to attach to spacer
MGB arms are ready to fit along with Dean's suggested LVD rod-ends for clearance to the disc
MG sprite rack is ready (awaiting paint but th garage is too cold!) with the Dean's LHT / RHT adjusters and clamps
In the meantime, engine will be out soon to fix the blown LH headgassket (Pyrenes trip didn't help that!), sort-out the 10yr old rear crank seal oil leak (!) and sort out the gearbox linkages and change the clutch!

15 inch on my current alloys, I suppose it will depend on the offset and casting/clearance of the alloy wheel, but you might just squeeze in 14 inch. I have another set of 15 inch alloys which I bought from one of the racing boys and know that the clearance on them are much greater as the 'profile' of the circumference is much shallower.
I am believe Dales in the US sells a Wilwood setup which is compatible with 14" rims. I am sure that Michael King uses that very setup with the standard offset on his Tiger. I am sure Michael can confirm that.V8 burble wrote:Has anybody successfully fitted 14 inch wheels with Brembo calipers?
If so, what offset etc is required to avoid touching front and rear arches?
I am assuming that 15 inch wheels/tyres will cause the above fouling problems on standard arches.
Is that correct?

Drawings (bit grubby, sorry!) with some dimensions. These are only as a rough guide, spacers need to be machined to fit your hub and disc combination.
Not shown on the drawings, but the bolt holes need to be counter-sunk so the spacer can fit against the disc. I also coutersunk the disk bolt holes as well to maximise clearance to the upright.
Here is the spacer bolted to the hub ready for the disc...
And the finished assembly again...

I have fitted the stock flexible brake lines to the calipers ( temporaily running no fluid), which seem to be the same thread. The problem is the hose hits the cross member on full lock.
Big Bob, as you have your flexible lines, if you put the steering on full lock does the hose hit the cross member.
It may not be a problem but I would rather it did not.
What have others used for their flexible lines. I think 90deg fitting off the caliper would be better.
Thanks Mal
Brembo caliper's
Hi Mal,
the original front flexible brake hose's from the Tiger, will be an imperial thread,of 3/8ths UNF and whilst these will screw into the Brembo calipers they are not the same thread, they use a Metric M10 thread.
You will need to obtain some M10 Banjo Bolts and Banjos to make some new brake hoses, the other end will be the original imperial thread, also the banjo ftgs will give you the clearance needed to keep the hose away from the chassis etc, just route them so that they point the hose up and to the brkt on the crossmember.
