Window winder cog's

Post by Mal » Fri Oct 23, 2009 3:27 am

My window winder on the drivers side has stripped the large cog. I know there are winder rebuild kits, or rebuilt units in that part of the world but I was wondering if one from any other Rootes group car would fit. Anybody know :?:
Thanks Mal

I have used one of Brian Postles rebuild build kits and although it is a bit fiddley it is doable and the the window worked well once it was done. :)

Thanks for the reply's. I was hoping the cog out of a super minx or similar would be the same.

i guess an alpine would fit :)

but, yes, the rebuild kit is the way to go. the teeth wear out over the years.
just need to take care that you peen the rivet nicely and flat and tight.

Our NZ Sunbeam club are importing some kits, so I will be able to rebuild the winder when they arrive. Thanks for the replys.
Cheers Mal
