Greetings,
Can anyone tell me if the Mk2 grill is available through suppliers in the UK. Also, is it straightforward to fit on a Mk1?.
Thanks

The MKII grille is not supplied by anyone in the UK or anywhere else. Only used examples are available (see US eBay where there is one listed presently). Reproduction items pop up occasionally. Fitting isn't a problem but the II came with a different 'eye-brow' to the grille used on the MKI.

By the way both will set you back several hundred pounds...each!

The MKII grill is not a simple egg crate.. its actually got a compound curve, it arcs across the width and tapers in the vertical.

I believe there are already a handful of repro units out there, I assume somebody made a batch a little while ago. I would imagine the genuine factory ones are understandably better quality items - anybody know how you can tell the difference?

Also, didn't some of the Alpines (Harringtons?) have egg grate grills and again are they different?

There was an optional egg crate grill for the harrington but its different, much larger boxes (bigger gaps). Ian Spencer of the SAOCA in the USA repro'ed some of these a few years back i think.
