Wheel sizes

Post by Shindles » Mon Dec 13, 2021 6:54 pm

Will 8" Minilites fit my standard Mk,1A Tiger?
If so what tyre size is recommended?

I have 6" wide rims 13" Diameter on my Car with 185/70 Tyres with no issues, the off-set is the important thing but I would guess 8" wide would be marginal.

The Tyre Selector for 8" Wide rims suggest 225 or 235 is ideal with 215 the minimum which will safely fit, you don't say what diameter the Rims are?

15" seems a popular size for most Tiger owners, I'm sure someone will know, but responses on here seem to be limited

If you do Facebook it may be worth asking the question on the UK Tiger Group?

Thanks Gary, I'm on 15" wheels.
I'll ask Minilite directly, and measure the wheel arches to estimate.

Its the inner wheel arch and the outer arch lip that causes problems, to go 8 inch is best done when welding up to give clearances, you may be lucky with your set up as it is but probably not.

I've had 15x6" front and 15x7" at rear fit ok, but tight. 8" might be a touch too far without modifications
