Water hose from radiator to waterpump
Hi Martin,
In the meantime I have posted my question on the forum of CAT and asked also if Mustang parts could help. As soon I have receieved some usefull information (regarding the drain tap) I will inform you via this forum
It should not surprise me when this drain tap is the same as used on the radiators of Alpines (Rootes did a lot of badge engineering and used also many parts which could be used on all types of Rootes cars).

In the meantime I found out that drain taps for all Alpines (series I up to and including series V) are the same for Tigers up to and including chassisnumber B382001894.
I just got a mail from Sunbeam Spares Company that they only supply Silicone bottom hoses for RHD Tigers. For LHD Tigers they only supply normal hoses without any reinforment such as a spring.
So this is not going to help me.
When I know more (information of the CAT forum) I will post this here.
Regards,
Peter

Hi Martin,
as promised I inform you that I have been able to track a drain tap here in the Netherlands at Rootes Parts Service which costed me, including posting, 8 Euros.
In your case you can buy this tap closer to home from Alpine West Midlands. They sell both the earlier and the later type.
The taps are not showed in their normal parts lists but in their parts list for new parts (both Alpine and Tiger) The code for this parts are
RAD 001 (later type) which costs 6.30 GBP and the one you need for your Tiger which is RAD 002, price 4,84 GBP.
I hope this information helps you in order to rectify on the radiator.
Best regards,
Peter

Hi Peter,
Thanks you very much for the info.
I'll order one one of those.
Did you manage to find a hose spring?
Looking on CAT, I found this thread......
http://www.catmbr.org/VB_forum/showthre ... ose+spring
I could be worth messaging (Randy) Oneoffive to see how he got on.
I've always found him to be a very friendly and helpful chap.
Many Thanks, Martin.

Hi Martin,
I am glad that I could help. And no I haven't been able to locate the spring, but with the information you supplied I am going to test my luck again in the Netherlands. We have here several suppliers of Mustang parts and from one of them I have bought in the past parts for my Tiger.
So I am going to ask this company if they are able to supply me with this spring.
The disadvantage of buying in the USA are the terrible extra costs.
Once I bought in the USA a carter ventilation valve for my Sunbeam Rapier series IV which had a price of something less than 10 USA dollars, but when it arrived here in my country I had to pay nearly 60 Euros!
The extra costs went in shipping, import duty, administration costs customs and extra V.A.T.
So I only buy in the USA when there is absolutely no other option.
Well thanks again for all your help!

Peter

Sorry to hear you've not yet found a spring.
I hope you have luck finding one in the Netherlands.
If not, CJ Pony Parts are very reasonable when it come to postage charges.
I bought a Felpro toploader gasket set from them and the postage to the UK was around £10.
Thankfully it wasn't expensive enough for our customs to be interested in it.
