Rear Number Plate Light Wiring.

Post by martin172 » Mon Jun 20, 2016 7:25 pm

This may sound like a silly question but mine often are.

My rear number plate light has got a red wire coming out of it, about 2 to 3 feet long with a bullet connector on the end.

I can't figure out where it connects to the loom.

There is a double connector practically next to the light but I assume that is for reversing lights if fitted.

Any ideas?

Also, while I'm here....

My brake lights don't work. All the other lights work and the pressure switch is new so any suggestions what the problem could be?

Thanks.

Have you shorted the 2 leads to the switch and see if the lights work?
As far as the number plate light goes, my car did have a lead to the center from the tail light.

I haven't had time yet to check this out but I have been advised that it should go into the double connector.

When I have a moment I'll have a fiddle with it and see what happens.
