Post by pjsv8 » Thu Apr 09, 2015 3:57 pm

I see Halfords are selling a classic car 20/50 motor oil suitable for 60s,70s,and 80s cars, has anyone tried it?

Yes but only to flush out petrol contaminated oil after a power valve failure. It's probably OK but I would advise using valvoline. Eurocarparts on line have good prices and if you sign up to their offers notifications you might find it vey cheap.

There is a lot of talk about what oil to use and good reasons why you should use certain oils. I've not known Halfords oils to be discussed but valvoline ticks all the boxes.
