Hi
I am contemplating an Ali rad, however ( being a heating engineer ) I don't want it to block up with ferrous material from the block ( even after flushing )
2 companies do in line filters in the states, can you get them over here ?
Thanks
Dom
In line strainer available in the UK ?
I use a TEFBA filter on both my Tiger and Healey to protect the rads. It is made in Australia but you can buy it from ebay, just do a search.Very efficient fast delivery. Available in different pipe diameters. Highly recommended. Stainless steel mesh you remove and clean. Frightening when you see how much stuff is removed. From memory about £25

Funnily enough, I fitted the Gano type about 4 years ago (I like me gadgets) and wasn't sure if it was worth it, and only this last weekend I checked it over as I was changing hoses/radiator.
Bearing in mind I had a new engine block and alloy rad when I originally fitted the filter I thought I would be fine, but it did indeed catch some muck. Lord knows how it gets in the system. Looked mainly like gasket material.
Excuse the poor phone camera pics;
Cleans easy enough;
Originally ordered from the US CATS website. Don't think I've seen them for sale in the UK. Be handy if one of the Tiger specialists sold them

Ali rad
I have been told on good authority that when fitting an Aluminium Radiator , rubber bushes should be used on the supports. They are quite fragile. Speak to Jim Oven.
