T50 Ethanol in petrol

Post by tigerman7347 » Mon Jun 09, 2014 12:03 pm

Just a point about the fuel in France. The petrol has 10 per cent Ethanol (E10) in France 5 per cent more than here. Do you think this will cause problems and is there anyway we can overcome this?

Thanks

Hi

Don't worry.

The unleaded with 10% ethanol over here in France is in a separate nozzle on the pump and is clearly labeled along with a warning not to use it in older vehicles. There is no problem with unleaded 95 or 98 and they have no added ethanol.

Look forward to seeing you all at Le Mans.

That was a good article in the recent club mag, useful to know that the majority of fuel suppliers in the UK (except for Shell) have no Ethanol traces in superunleaded.

Brad. The STOC French Tours kick off on 30th June with the Normandy 'D Day' Landings Tour, followed by the Le Mans Classic ('TIGERS Return to Le Mans 1964-2014'), 3rd-7th July and after that several Tigers will embark on a Châteaux and Wine tour of the Loire 7th to 10th July, before a quick run back to be in time for the STOC International Rally in Stratford, England

We don't know yet what enclosure / stand we have at Le Mans - probably in the 'sand dunes' above the Bugatti Circuit,

Will post once we hear.
