2 Barrel Holley

I have just overhauled a Holley 2 barrelled carb and am having problems with the lack of fuel coming into the ventures. The float level is fine, and I have blown out every orifice. When I take the carb off and tilt it the fuel comes out of the ventures! So what is stopping the fuel from being sucked into the ventures?
Thanks Rob

Does the engine start and run at all?
I suspect the idle circuit might be faulty.

Idle ok, as I said no fuel being sucked thro Ventures, hence no acceleration!

Hi Rob,
when you say no fuel is coming from the Venturis,do you mean the accelerator pump nozzles or the boosters in the Venturis proper.
If the pump is not working you may have not put the pump linkage back correctly and then the pump will not work, thus the engine will not rev up and will "Bog Down"
A little more info would be helpful to diagnose the problem.

Fuel not being sucked thro the ventures proper. Accelerator pump fine.

Rob,
to get the fuel flow through the venturis there must be air flow,as you have an accelerator pump working and the throttle blades opening, the engine will increase revs if the fuel flows through the main jets, without weakening the mixture.
Did you remove jets during rebuild and did you replace the gasket between metering block and carb throttle body.
Did you check that the gasket was the correct one for the body,i.e with the same amount and placement of holes etc.
Have you used a new base gasket carb to manifold.

I replaced all the gaskets from the kit I purchased. Blew all the holes out, took the jets out, But still nothing. The gaskets fit perfectly to the metering unit. I used a new base gasket to the inlet manifold
Its with a friend who is used to Holleys having a look now. Will let you know the outcome.
Thanks
