Heated manifold adapter

Post by nicam » Fri Apr 25, 2014 9:46 am

I am changing all of the cooling system hoses and have two hose connections to a "sandwich" plate between the carb and the manifold, one connection at the front from the Tee carrying a temp sensor and one at the back which Tees into the heater hose (the Tee doesn`t look original). Is this sandwich plate a standard fitting? The engine is a 289 in a Mk1, so I am not sure what should be standard as per 260, or changed on the 289, wherever that engine was sourced from. The engine has been piped up in the past using standard heater hose lengths. Thanks for anyone`s help.

Hi, yes this is standard ,the tee has 2 different sizes to it as 1 is 7/8 from the water pump and the other is 1/2 which goes to the heater matrix. The other goes thro the spacer below the Carb then to the temp sender. The tee is copper. It is supposed to cool the fuel before it reaches the intake manifold
Hope this helps Rob
