slack clutch pedal

Post by pruyter » Wed Nov 27, 2013 10:28 am

Since some time I discovered that after having depressed the clutch pedal the pedal is coming up as usual, but....there is then some slack ( I guess 1 cm) in the pedal. After a minute driving or so the slack has been disappeared. The clutch is functioning as usual and the level of the liquid in the reservoir is not changed at all.
So all is okay with exception of that about 1 cm slack which dissapears after a minute or so.
Has somebody an idea about what is going on in my Tiger?
Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Peter

You have fluid pssing the seals in the slave or the master. Very minor at the moment. Will get worse, rebuild.

Hello alpine5gt,

thank you very much for this information. I am amazed, because one year ago the master cyliner was rebuilt by a well known specialist here in the Netherlands.
So now the question is: where do I find a new master cylinder? If I am correct the size is 7/8 inch isn't it?

Best regards,

Petr

Oh now I see.....it could be the slave cyliner as well and that one is rebuilt many years ago! I should have red your message more carefully, sorry about that. Thanks again alpine5gt!

Best regards,
Peter
