Bottom fulcrum pin bolts

Post by tigerman7347 » Tue Aug 20, 2013 8:57 pm

Beware, I have recently had a bottom fulcrum bolt shear off leaving just one bolt hanging onto the bracket! Please check these as they have a habit of coming loose. One guy in the USA wrote his Tiger off when this happened.
Torque these to 32lbs. Be safe, not sorry.

Cheers Rob

Good, sound advice about checking the bolts.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the number one cause of the lower fulcrum pin itself failing is reversing hard and fast on full lock.
Reverse slowly and gently when on full lock and your LFPs should last a great deal longer.

Plus beware of QH lower fulcrum pins. They have more circumfering recesses which may still work OK with Alpines but never on Tigers...
