I rebuilt mine from a seized wreck in 1990. Cost me £215 + about another £80 getting the valves re-seated.

It must be about the least expensive engine to rebuild ever (except maybe the SBC).

If your motor is basically 'alive', but worn, what'll you need?

Gaskets- buy Fel Pro.
Rings, main bearings. Big end bearings.

An oil pump, a timing chain

Really, not expensive in any way.

Personally, I'd fit an upgraded oil pump drive shaft (pennies) and a pertronix ignitor in place of those bloody points!- but that's not really 'engine rebuild' stuff.

If it hasn't run for years, extra costs will be a crank grind (£100) some new slugs (cheap) and a re-bore (no idea).

If you got any lolly left over, stick an ally flywheel on the sucker. You'll be glad you did...
