I have been offered a T 5 gear box from a rwd sierra cosworth. Can any one tell me what is required to fit it to a 5bolt block Tiger? The leaver looks like it may be a bit to far back, so is this box an option?
Thanks Harry

Cosworth box has the stick to far back the 5 bolt belhousing will not fit without an adaptor pushing the stick even further back splines are 26 so will not fit a 10 spline clutch
Like all things it would fit but is not worth the hassle to change so many things if cheap buy and put on ebay for the cossie people.

Ive been told you would also need to do this. I'd confirm that first.

question for anyone who has fitted a T5 to a 302 block in their Tiger what did you use to operate the clutch lever
1 did you use the T5 bellhousing with the late type release arm with the ball pivot
2 how did you make the hydraulics work.

I have just fitted one of Tom Hall's T5 gearbox conversion kits. the results are brilliant.

See http://www.tigerengineering.net/

Not the cheapest but all the bits are there, adaptor plate, prop, rear mount etc and the bodyshell is not hacked about and it can use the same clutch as the Top loader.

I used t5 bell housing with ball pivot release arm. I made a bracket to bolt slave cylinder to so it went the other way. Think I used rover416 slave as it gave reduced pressure at the pedal with my Spec 3+ clutch. I'll try & dig photos out. T5 from TVR put lever at right spot but central, requiring small metal trim.

The gear lever is too far back and cossie one is prob not specd for high torque. I am using a T5 from a TVR as will handl;e the torque and the lever is further forward.

Top loader v TVR T5. TvR version is "World" spec which is stronger than Cossie. Also gear lever comes up same distance as top loader, but central, so will require hole in tunnel to be enlarged.
Real Steel do a friction plate to suit T5 splines.
Using later ball pivot arm gives lighter clutch feel due to better leverage ratio. Can't find my slave cylinder photos at present.
