Front spoiler

Post by bigbob » Fri Jan 13, 2012 3:03 pm

Purists look away now. Has anyone found a front spoiler that can easily be adapted to fit a Tiger? Even a small chin one would help.

Hi,

If I remember correctly, there are a couple of people in the US that have fitted front spoilers to their cars. One I believe was used from an MGB which didn't look too out of place.

Regards, Robin.

Don't think my new addition over the Winter looks out of place either.

Find once I get up to full speed at about 40mph the front end is definately more stable.....

Wait until you say what I've done with a "whaletail" RS Cosworth type rear spoiler 8)

Back on topic :lol: ....I believe the Tiger boys from the 70's and 80's used Triumph Dolomite Sprint spoilers, they are still available as repros today but when I looked at them I thought they looked a little deep, but am unsure.

John Day has a spoiler fitted and it could be from the Dolomite Sprint;

From memory another member had a thinner spoiler from a Triumph Spitfire

Tony,

if you extend it a little to the wheel arches.. add some stainlee trim around the lip it will look just like the MKII mouldings wrapping around to join... very "factory" :shock:

Lovely 'retro' pics there Bob, really do capture the moment.

Is that Ken Hubbard with AF204, if so he's own that for years and was infact at the AGM dinner last year and met him for the first time, a thoroughly nice bloke.

If memory serves me correctly, doesn't he have a trick or two for the suspension setup and is a seriously quick Tiger - 8)

Yes, it was Ken back in late 80's. Photos taken in the pit lane at Goodwood, the facilities have changed a bit since then! It was & still is a quick car. Will your boot wing be bigger?

You're mistaken Gary, it's a precision piece of engineering fabricated from aircraft steel using the most advanced materials and resources.

You'll next be saying that I used Photoshop to remove the 'mole grips' that was holding on the Mini rear valence, I meant precision spoiler.....
