Production Question

Trying bit of a first here - a sort of survey of owners!
I need to enlist the assistance of any keeper of a Tiger with a chassis number between B9473600 and B382001400 to help me zero in on when a certain production change happened.

On early cars the factory rad core is fitted using two circular bosses to the top of plates to either side of the opening plus another at the bottom. On later cars this is a one piece fabrication with the fixing points stamped out on the plates. Hopefully these pics explain this better than I can!!

2. Late Example

When readers of this post have a moment could you take a look at your Tiger and let me know either here on the Forum or by PM the set up on your machine.

Bit of a dry topic I know, but your feedback would be great. Who knows I could try a few more of these Q & A's!!

Graham,

My MK1A B382000932 LRXFE had the early fixings and I am pretty sure it was original to that car?

Thanks for this Ash.

I'll leave my poser a few more days just in case one or two of our bashful browsers are moved to make a contribution!!

Feedback shows I need to move the point forward to when the radiator fixing bosses were changed to approx B382001300 or thereabouts.

I've managed to deduce that from 4 responses for which I thank those members/browsers.

However, this little thread has been read by 260 folk and I am sure that more than those 4 have something they can contribute!!

Graham,

Managed to get to the Tiger yesterday and have a look, B382002258 has the later pressed style impressions for the holes.

Hi Graham, sorry for not responding, I thought my car was well outside your range of interest. My B382001447 also has the later pressed style attachment points.

Graham, Slightly out of your range but B9473531 has the earlier style with the welded on spacers.

Thanks Gene, Dave and Michael

After a flurry of reports and PM's the early mounting points are seen so far on and up to B382000932 but changed by B382001409. Be good if we could could narrow down that 470 car difference !!
