I gave my washer bottle a clean with POR 15 marine clean. Came up OK, still yellowed a bit, but it has removed nearly all oil and rust stains from the container. Marine clean is a great product to have around the garage to clean prior to painting.

Hi Mal,
Your washer bottle has come up very nice. Without finding a reproduction, that would be the best you'll get it. Any updates with the body work?
Regards, Robin.

Robin, I hope the bottle still looks ok in a newly painted engine bay.
Body is very nearly finished

I will post some pic's soon.

Good point Mal, you could always try and find one of those Tudor washer bottles. You see them from time to time on Ebay. I'll keep an eye open on your other thread.

Mal,
Sunbeam Specialties has a perfect reproduction of the ROOTES branded washer bottle.. i bought on.. they are great, you need to keep your metal nozzel and hose from the original.

No worries, I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the heads up.

Definitely use the original bottle Mal.
With a totally restored car, I think a few puctuation points showing it's true age look really good.
