A good observation, but the reality is that the UK has never had the sort of following for V8's in their cars. Just look at what you get from Australia and South Africa for sheer entertainment in "shoehorning" an American V8 in a "stock" RWD production car.
Very envious of you guys, throbbing V8's and great weather......
So the upshot is, in the UK there are very few "quality" suppliers of crate engines - and for those contemplating buying a "ready built" engine do your homework and don't assume that these so called specialist suppliers of "off the shelf crate engines" are worth the warranted premium

Tony i agree on the provate vendors selling crate motors, unless they have a very good rep and you have first hand knowledge of recent installs i would be cautious.. then again same gos for engine builders. I think the ford racing motors are the ticket.. or someone like rousch.. they are factory built. It was interesting to not that the FR 302 non boss block motors now say they use reco blocks... i guess they are stopoping production of the original windosor block and moving to the 4 bolt boss only.

I mentioned rousch in particular as they are in the UK.. they are the only offical workshop outside the USA.. think they were setup to offer the modofied ford GT's in about 2006

Roush engines I believe is very much a US player, unless I have missed an operation in the UK
Just take a look at their 353 cu.in. that is based on the 302 small block

Tony,
I'm trying to remember where i read about the UK rousch operation. might have been an issue of CAR or Top Gear. A firm in the Uk was endorsed by Rousch to build motors and stock some of their alloy block crate setups. They were also offering the upgrades on the ford Gt's, I doubt they will be cheap but you know what you will get.

Top Gear tested a Ford Mustang enhanced by roush a while back comparing it with the standard Mustang that they tested. It may have been a magazine follow on from the TV presentation.

Hi
Roush had quite a big building on an industrial site in Hutton, Essex
I used to see quite a few new gt40's in their compound but they disappeared a year or two ago and the building now has a Mountune sign on it and no gt40'sv
