Nebraska Tiger

Post by 66 blackcat » Tue Mar 30, 2010 8:18 pm

I am trying to trace any history on my 1966 mk1A B382002032 LRXFE.
The tiger was flown from Texas to the UK in 2000 by the USAF.
The last US keeper lived in Omaha Nebraska but his existance has been denied after contacting the air base to which the tiger was transported.
Can anyone remember this tiger as I would be gratefull of any history.

All the the Club records say is that this Tiger was brought into England by a member of the USAF stationed in Suffolk? He sold it on to a GT40 restorer. I think you have the trail after that.
Your best bet is to contact Norman Miller at the International Tiger Registry (See Links Page of this site). Norm might be able to help you trace its US past. Is your Tiger still regsitered as JFL 170D?

Good Luck and let us know how you get on.

Thanks for your reply Graham, you are correct about the reg no JFL 170D. This number was on the car when I purchaced it from Brian Postle in 2003 it now carries a private registration.
I contacted Norman Miller in 2004 and he told me that my Tiger is one of five Tigers reported to have been completed on Monday 2nd May 1966 and is one of sixty Tigers in Embassy Black [ Rootes colour code 1].
