Car history
Would it be possible to find out if this car was the car noted in the book 'Tiger: The Making of a Sports Car' by Mike Taylor. on Page 182. Alan Hartwell purchased 7 MK11 Tigers that were standing on the dockside at Southampton and one was bought by a Canadian who took immeadiate delivery. This car has a vinyl covered hardtop as did Alan Hartwells. The vin is B382100629LRXFE and paint code 39. If this information could be confirmed it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Hartwell History
It would be great to determine which MKII is the 7th "Hartwell". The vinyl covered hardtop is a good if circumstantial clue since this was not a factory item. STOC has some letters from Alan Hartwell and we will dig them out. In the meantime I can confirm that the 6 British 'Hartwell' Tiger 2's have chassis (vin) numbers ranging from B38210559 to B38210631.

Graham, you may be interested to know that I had the same body trimmer that did Alan Hartwell's orchid green Mk 2 vinyl roof, do it to my white hardtop on the Mk 1 that I owned back then. (FJT 883 D, then 928 PP).
His name eludes me right now, but I took the hardtop to his house to be done, and remember exactly where that is)
This is still owned by Dave Wynne, I believe, with a different licence number now. (NBY 120 D ??)
best wishes from Antigua, by the way !!!
