Monte Carlo Rally - The Winter Challenge 2011

By chance noticed this year's start of the "18th Winter Challenge" Monte Carlo Rally was from either the historical and beautiful old Roman Town of Chester, England or a start from Noordwijk in Holland for the European participants. As Chester is relatively local it was rude not to grab my camera, despite a Sunday 8am start
Met up with John Abel driving his well known Tiger, supported by navigator Mike Hope. Coincidentally, Jayne and Paul Wignall who have scored many trophies rallying their Tiger were out on this occasion in their individual Alfa Romeos.
For those that do not know, the Monte Carlo event is run very much in mind with the spirit of the original and is a now a popular and huge success.
For anybody interested, details of the event can be found at the following link;

Pics;
.....and a few non-Tiger;
A lonely Alpine come to spectate..
Would be nice to see the participants finishing in Monte Carlo, and seeing what a Tiger does best......win at Rallying
