Insurance?

Post by joetiger » Thu Jun 25, 2015 5:52 pm

Hey chaps,

I've just bought a tiger that I'd like to start hill climbs / sprints with. It needs a few things done first.

But my question is what do you do about insurance? My insurance excludes any timed events. Do you run uninsured or can you buy insurance for a day?

Thanks,

-- joe.

Hi Joe,

I assume you mean in the UK.
Race / sprint insurance is available through many providers.
Can't speak about sprints / hillclimbs but for racing the cost, and excess, is prohibitive for me so I've never bothered.
Even with a major prang at Spa, I am still quids in compared to insuring every race ( 60+) over the last 14 years.
The exception would be for driving some else's car.

When you get your licence, the RAC MSA will send you their quarterly magazine which features multiple adverts.

If it's only sprinting / hillclimbing the risk is less as it's just you on track.
But you do want to come racing, don't you? You know you want to.....
Brands Hatch Paddock Hill bend, Thruxton Church corner, Castle Combe Quarry......You can do it...
