A double helping of Intermarque races to come at Thruxton, near Andover, on 12th September!
It's 5 years since Intermarque visited this fast circuit, and we have 5 Tigers entered so far. Speeds of over 120mph should be achievable for most cars along the back stretch with the leaders likely to be approaching 140-150 before braking for the chicane.
There is also a Sunbeam Alpine team in the 50's sports car races (also 2 off) so it's a real feast for Sunbeam fans.
Come along and support the teams!
Team Tiger at Thruxton, Saturday 12th September
The Sunbeam team took the Intermarque Championship lead yesterday, despite the Chris Scragg of the AMV8 team winning both races (again!), the small grids (including only 2 cars in the AMV8 team), meant that the Class A Tigers of Tristan Bradfield, Andrew Yates and Paul Clayson achieved great results and a huge score for the team.
Mixed fortunes for Peter and Nathan Dod, and self in GYU; after a red flag in race 1 due to a nasty fire in Nicholas King's DB4 (driver OK), the resultant grid-holding caused Peter's engine to overheat and the sump gasket to start to leak; son Nathan chose to pull in rather than risk the leak getting worse. That aside, the car was running superbly, so we hope this is the end of the run of bad luck. Meanwhile GYU suffered fuel-surge in Race 1 which ended in a DNF, but ran OK in race 2 to achieve the car's 46th race result.
Next outing is Oulton Park on 3rd October; we need 3 finishers to maintain the lead!
