Thanks guys. Hopefully it looks good when all painted up. It's a hard task to tastfully alter the bonnet on a Tiger. They look so good just as they are.
It looks like you have found a gifted tin basher there.
He has good skills allright. He said the paint rep was taking photo's of the bonnet as well. Said that he had been telling another panel shop we were going to cut a big hole in the bonnet and weld in a power bulge. They said it couldn't be done.
You can't use much filler on a bonnet. The heat and vibration soon cause cracks.

My vents are far cruder, but work well. You could BBQ with the heat coming out from them after a run.

They look OK Bob. With your supercharger, you will have a lot more energy being created under your bonnet than I will.

Martin.
No updates. He has put the bonnet skin back on the frame, but he has been doing work on other cars. Hopefully he will be back on it next week.
I can't wait to see the bonnet primed up and back on the car. See how it looks.

It looks great Mal.
You wouldn't know it was an aftermarket feature at all.

Hi Mal,

To be honest, I was initially a bit dubious as to the design but after seeing it in undercoat I'm liking it. The subtle bulge and vents aren't over the top and can't wait to see it finished. Great choice Mal.

Regards, Robin.

Thanks guys. I still have not seen it fitted to the car. I will post a pic when it's on.

I have been working on a new dash. Vineer is Red Beech (fiddle back grain ). NZ native. Something a bit different.

Looks great Mal and nothing wrong with a bit of home grown customising. It should match everything nicely. How is all the body work progressing?

Robin. I thought we were on the home straight. There were some patches on the rear chassis rails. It was well covered with underseal. Now we have to replace the rear chassis rails :( . To do that the boot floor and rear seat floor has been cut out. I have had them at home to remove all the old underseal.

I wasn't going to post a photo, but here it is. Rotten all the way to the spring eye bush :x

Mal,

If you are repairing the rear rails its worth going to the modtiger engineering site and downloading the instructions to strengthen the panhard rod mounting area and the spring eyes.

they are comon weak points, and while its open and accesible its a great time to do them.

I have seen many looking very second hand or just pacthed up with lots of weld.. best to get them sorted properly while you have the chance.
