Brad, it's not supprising we found some. We have found more in the X frame as well, but not serious.
If we find any more I will scrap this body and find a genuine rust free Alpine body and use that :D
:?: Does rust free mean, free of rust or is the seller just not charging you for the rust that is there :D

Sunbeam Tiger marries Morris Oxford. Now I need to find some MGB steering arms, tie rod ends and extensions and it should be the same as using a midget rack without the mounting blocks and water elbow modifications. I hope.

Hi Mal,

I noticed someone on Ebay that were selling the MGB arms, so may be worth a look.

Regards, Robin.

Mal is the morris oxford rack your idea or has it been done before? it looks really good and has got to be cheaper than the midget conversion. will be interested on how it performs

Jay, I have never heard of it being done before.
What happened was I bought the Oxford rack which dimension were the same as a Midget rack. The only problem was it is rear steer which would be ok in a LHD Tiger. I could not find a Midget rack here and to import one I could of ended up with a piece of expensive junk.
I striped down the Tiger rack to find the rack dry of oil and badly worn. Then I thought perhaps I could have a new rack made to the dimensions of a Midget rack and use the Tiger pinion and case. The gear cutter could not cut a rack to match the Tigers helical pinion.
We ended up turning down the Oxford rack a little as it was thicker and machining up a new pinion to match. Cheaper I don't think so, but it all just bolts back in place and should work the same as a Midget rack.

Cheers.

Do I take it then if you were to get a LHD morris oxford rack it would bolt straight in.
