Hardtop Raingutter trim

Post by Tigerfan » Sun Oct 15, 2017 1:35 pm

Hi Guys,

Has anybody got advice on how best to remove the chrome rain gutter trim from a hardtop without damage. Clearly they have to be removed from the underside as they hook over the metal gutter moulding at the top. I have a set already removed from a hardtop by some one else but have been wrecked, probably by using a screwdriver or similar.

Has anybody know of a tool for this purpose rather than using a screwdriver or similar which is bound to damage them!!!

I could spend time designing and fabricating a tool I guess, but hopefully there is a solution out there already known to a tiger/Alpine owner.

Cheers
Rich

Well Guys, no replys to my post? So, used my 50 years of engineering experience and designed and made al tool from bits in my 'come in handy box', with which I was able to remove the the gutter trim very successfully without damage.

Hi Rich

Well done for fabricating the tool, any chance of a photograph or details for future reference?

Regards
John
