steering arms

I finally got the 2 steering arms off the ball joints. What I did not do was mark them. So on one each one there is 1990 602 and on the other 1990603.
Can someone advise which is left and which is right. They came off a LHD Tiger and are going on a RHD Tiger fitted with a MX5 steering rack.

Don't worry, they can only go on one way in order to have the taper for the tie rod end pointing up and still fit their respective spindle carrier. It will be obvious which side they fit when refitted with the brake caliper.

Just done the same. The curve in the arm bends up, with the track rod fitting from below. As for left and right hand drive. Only the nut behind the wheel can tell. the car doesn't know.

Will they be long enough. I would think you would need the extra length of the mgb steering arms to get the tie rod ends to fit. Unless you are using bent tie rods.

David May and others have fitted the MX5 unit, some had new arms fitted, others found the MX5 arms can be shortened and threaded for alpine ends.
When we have it together we will decide the option. I believe the extreme pivot range of the MX5 unit negates the bending of the arms.

I have just redone mine. Because they had been shortened before I had to make new extensions made. You can thread the tie rods to half inch. I now use alpine tie rod ends and I am also using minx spindles which have a different spindle and steering arm height. I needed to do this to eliminate bump steer.
