Tiger Carpets

Post by Tomaselli » Sun Mar 30, 2014 10:15 am

Can't see if this has been covered before;

It's time I had a new carpet, making the car look a bit 'shabby'

Anybody recommend a carpet supplier, looking for good quality, not necessarily the cheapest, and one that will fit first time round!

Undecided as if I need an underlay/felt/soundproofing as my car is getting a bit noisy these day - must check them exhausts. Any views or suggestions, I was wondering with an underfelt whether it makes it more difficult to fit snugly in place.

I suppose the other extreme is just to buy a roll and cut to shape using templates, can't be that difficult, but I can imagine fitting piping edging, driver's mat and tunnel bits be a bit difficult.

Any experiences or suppliers I can trust?

Cheers in advance.

Hi Tony.

I'm going to change my carpets in the next few months. I bought a roll of carpet last year when I re-trimmed the seats. The intention is to use existing carpets as templates and get a local company to do the edging. They can do vinyl or wool edging, not sure what I'll go for as yet.
I'll then get additional footwell carpets made with Tiger script logo and rubber heel pad for driver.

Tony, sent you an email. Try Carhoods who advertise on the Tiger site on Ebay. Ian Sims 0782455890

Thanks for all the recommendations guys.

I have now had a few samples from suppliers, and I must say the quality has somewhat improved from when I bought a basic carpet set over 25 years ago. Bet they are a better fit these days also! Amazed at the level of choice now on offer!

Cheers, :D

Hi all

Just came across this post as I'm approaching the carpet stage of a restoration.

As suggested, I'm looking at these:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254501502182 ... xyRhBS7RA~
and these:
https://www.carcarpets.co.uk/sunbeam-ti ... -869-c.asp

The 2nd lot look like they might be better quality though of course it's hard to tell from pictures.

Can anyone comment on how well they fit and/or whether it might be better to have a set made to measure though I have a feeling that will be very pricey.

Cheers
Dave

Hi Dave

Coverdale have been going for years and have a good reputation, they supplied the carpets to the Wheeler Dealer crew for a Rover P5B they featured on the show, here's a link:-
