Hi, I have a tiger that was hit on the right side many decades ago. When I got it I removed both front fenders, the right rear fender and replaced the right door. Now I am a handyman not a body man. I spent a long time removing the front & rear right fenders. I made sure the weld holes lined up everywhere it needed to be rewelded. I made sure the boot and bonnet fitted exactly and measured everything. Where the replacement fenders met the existing bodywork, they linned up very well.
The first body chap said they may have to measure the body as there is almost no clearence at the rear door gap and the lower gap. At the front there is a rather larger gap.
The second chap to come out basicly said I screwed up. The rear fender should be fitted correctly, the doors fitted and the gaps at rear and lower made right before the front fenders are fitted. He would have to remove the front fenders and redo everything. Verbal quote $20,000.
Now I am a bit curious about this. From what I can see the front hinges bolt to the A post. The front fender is basicly a covering, the Apost is held in position by the inner guard box like unit and the attachment to the sills
If the front hinges need moving foward a mill or 3, it is the whole front that needs to move and how can that be acheived?
Any advise will be gratefully received
door fitment
Update, It was annoying me (nicer word) so I got a straight edge and checked the rear B piller. Yes, a bulge (it was a doner, not a NOS unit) I then got the longboard out and there was BOG there. 5 mins worth and the door closed. Tight fit but closed.
so this proffessional gave it a quick look, said I screwed up and wanted $20,000. I am getting close to finishing it myself. Will wait for the other 2 quotes.

Good to see you won that little battle. I think you need to get rid of all the old paint to see what is there. Then plan from there. My hard top looked in resoably good condition until the paint was removed.alpine5gt wrote:Update, It was annoying me (nicer word) so I got a straight edge and checked the rear B piller.
